Events

A summer BBQ and bike workshop hosted by the Carleton University Graduate Students Association in partnership with Cycle Salvation on July 6th was an overwhelming success, with fantastic participation from the student population. Bikes were tuned up, stories were told, food was eaten, and friends were made, at this event in support of GSA climate change initiatives and sustainable transportation.

Some of Cycle Salvation's new friends:

Carleton GSA organizers Ruty Skvirsky, Chantle Beeso, and Sarah Cooper.

Cycle Salvation's head mechanic Paul Wylie checks a set of gears.

Andrea got her bike at a garage sale many years ago. Its name is "Betty" and it's old and in need of a tune-up.

"When I learned of this event, it was the highlight of my yesterday - Whoohoo! - I'm really happy."

J.P. inherited his dad's bike and has kept it mostly original.

"Paul was great and he's very knowledgable. Take care of your bike and it will last longer than your car!"

Siobhan bikes for many reasons: green transit, physical fitness, and wellbeing.

"I would like to learn how to maintain my own bike. This social event was a great idea!"

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Bike to Work event sponsored by Cycle Salvation and The EnviroCentre. Cyclists who brought their bikes to the event at the Museum of Nature on Earth Day received complimentary bike adjustments, and info and registration for Bike to Work Month.
